Organisation

MSF is an international, independent medical humanitarian organisation. They provide medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare. They are a non-profit, self-governed, member-based organisation. MSF was founded in 1971 in Paris by a group of journalists and doctors. Today, they are a worldwide movement of more than 67,000 people.

MSF coordinates operations through collaborations between global offices. The ‘MSF Operational Centre Amsterdam’ (OCA) is a partnership that is composed of the partners MSF-Canada, MSF- Germany, MSF-SARA, MSF-Sweden, MSF-Holland and MSF-United Kingdom. MSF-OCA deploys approximately 1,300 international staff, employs 10,000 national staff and operates medical humanitarian interventions in about 25 countries.

The office of MSF-Holland located in Amsterdam hosts more than 400 employees, offering direct support to MSF-OCA operations. Around 50 staff focus on recruitment, communication and fundraising in The Netherlands (MSF-Holland) and 350 staff are focused on supporting MSF-OCA operations.

The Communication and Fundraising department ensures that everything our teams do and see in the field is shared with the Netherlands as impactfully as possible. They consciously sometimes make a fist, raise funds, involve and activate.

Recently, the department has been built on the basis of the 3 main objectives of the department with each goal a responsible team coordinator: Recruiting new donors, strengthening the relationship with existing donors and engagement with the general public and specific target groups.

The Database management (expertise) team consists of various expertise, including in the field of data analysis, CRM, marketing automation, etc. The aim is to embed these expertise even better in the department.
